Safety Protocols:

  1. Face coverings are required at all times in the common areas of the gym.
  2. No appointments are necessary for using the gym.
  3. Social distancing is required amongst all members inside the facility.
  4. Spray bottles for disinfecting equipment will be available for cleaning & santization.
  5. Lockers, showers & washrooms will be available.
  6. Check your local Crunch hours of operation on our website www.crunchfitness.ca/locations
  7. We will be announcing an update about Group Fitness soon.
  8. Kid's Crunch will remain suspended.
  9. For everyone's safety, stay home if you have a fever or are symptomatic. All visitors and employees will be screened to be certain they are not experiencing symptoms.
  10. You may see an outstanding balance in your online member's account. Please do not be alarmed as this is the balance frozen during our temporary closure. If your account was in good standing prior to our closure, you will not be responsible for this amount.
  11. We ask that members limit their workout to 1 hour.

This is new territory for all of us and it goes without saying that every new Government mandate has presented its challenges. The Ontario Government has released a new mandate that Ontario gyms are to follow. Crunch did not create these new guidelines and we are expected to follow rules enforced by the Government to avoid ramifications.

We understand and respect that there may be individuals that have different opinions and views with the regulations. However, any harassment towards anyone at our clubs is not a solution and will not be tolerated.

We understand and respect any individuals that do not wish to follow these new mandates for our province. However, since Crunch has to implement these rules for all patrons of our gym, the individuals not following the mandate will unfortunately not be able to use our gym.

Ontario Vaccine Policy

Effective Wednesday September 22, 2021, the provincial vaccine mandate (click here for details) for indoor activities comes into effect and will be enforced at all Crunch Ontario locations. This means that our gyms will only be available to those members who can provide proof of vaccination or a doctor’s letter for proof of medical exemption.

Member Check-In Process

Members must come to the Club with three pieces of information:

  1. Physical or digital vaccination receipt.
  2. Government Issued ID to confirm the Member’s identity matches their vaccination receipt.
  3. Crunch barcode (physical or digital) for entry into the Club once vaccination status has been confirmed.

3 Steps to Check-In:

  1. Member displays their vaccination receipt or approved medical exemption documentation either on their mobile device or a physical copy.
  2. Once the Member’s immunization status has been verified, a Crunch Team member will confirm their name matches that of their government-issued ID.
  3. Once the Member’s identification has been confirmed, we will note proof of vaccination status on your member account for future visits.

Individuals can obtain their proof of vaccination by downloading or printing their vaccine receipt from the provincial booking portal, or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900. Ontarians who received their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine out of province should contact their local public health unit to record their information and receive proper documentation.

We also understand that some may not wish to obtain a Covid-19 vaccine and may wish to freeze your account. If this is you, please visit or contact your home club directly and we will freeze your membership until January.

The health and safety of our members and team members is always our top priority and we appreciate your support, cooperation and understanding during this transition — thank you for continuing to navigate these changes with us.

Alberta Vaccine Policy

On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, the Government of Alberta announced new health measures due to increased COVID-19 cases.

These measures placed the onus on us to either implement proof of vaccination policies or follow restrictions that would reduce or remove club activities. We appreciate the importance of providing a safe environment for everyone in our clubs where Albertans can pursue their fitness journeys, while also maintaining the expectations of provincial mandates.

After thoroughly reviewing both options, we have decided to remain fully operational for our members and employees by requiring proof of vaccination or negative test results at all of our clubs.

In choosing this option, we can keep providing our members with the services and amenities they love and keep our Teams working. We appreciate the opportunity to continue to operate our clubs, and value the support of our amazing members and team members during this transition.

Club Check-in Requirements

Effective Monday, September 20, 2021, all members and guests will be asked to present one of the following:

  • Proof of vaccination
  • Proof of a privately-paid negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours prior to entering club (PCR or rapid antigen test)
  • Documentation for a medical exemption

From September 20 to October 25, one dose of an approved vaccine will be accepted, as long as the dose was given more than 2 weeks before the time of service.

Digital copies of the documentation listed above will also be accepted. At this time, we will not be saving vaccination records in our system.
